I would hope an incoming National Government will consider paying the current Police
Commisioner off and get rid of other dead wood at the top. The top administration is
too closely aligned to the Labour political machine at a high level. In 1955 there was a
royal commission of enquiry into the workings and corruption of the Police at the time.
The then Commissioner was paid off. A civillian was appointed Comptroller of the Police
(Sam Barnett, secretary for justice) to bring impartiaity to the position. He also introduced
new structures and training methods. It may be time for it to happen again.

Tauranga election polling
Current local polling in Tauranga shows that Simon bridges the National candidate is at
53 percent, Ann Pankhurst, Labour at 16 percent and Winston at 12 percent. Winston first
does have a following among the local elderly, but the feeling in Tauranga is that it is
diminishing. Hopefully this is so because politics in this country would be better of without
this little man and his hypocrisy.
